Get ready for fast action, sharp turns and all the excitement that a ski mountain can bring.  Sun Valley is hosting the 2016 Freestyle/Freeskiing Junior Nationals from March 7-13 and the Nature Valley US Alpine Championships March 22 - 27th. Freestyle/Freeskiing Junior Nationals will include bumps and aerials on Roundhouse Slope and halfpipe and slopestyle on Dollar Mountain.

The Nature Valley US Alpine Championships will include super G, giant slalom, slalom and a combined event of super G and slalom. The combined event will be held over two days on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 22-23. Super G will be held Thursday, and GS and slalom on Friday through Sunday.  The U.S. Ski Team’s best racers are expected to participate.

The super G race will begin on upper Warm Springs at the base of International for the men and a bit lower for the women. The course will make a left turn onto the top of upper Greyhawk, then continue down Greyhawk to the bottom of the run. The races will make for spectacular viewing, and spectators will be able to watch from several points along the course. NBC will televise the Super G race, with cameras in eleven positions along the course.

Wednesday afternoon, March 23, in conjunction with an awards ceremony for the combined events, there will be a street party at the Warm Springs base. An opening ceremony will be held Thursday night at Ketchum Town Square.
On Friday evening at Dollar Mountain, Sun Valley will host a demonstration of big air snowboarding, an event that will make its Olympic debut in 2018. For more information, check out the link below
